Home alone eating

 

So my husband has gone away for a few days and this can be a really hard time to continue eating well. Much harder to motivate yourself to spend time preparing food for yourself when you a) aren’t really thinking about the next meal and b) would be very happy with a bowl of the kids cereal. It doesn’t matter whether you actually sit down to eat a proper supper, what does matter is that when you do get hungry there is something reasonably healthy in the fridge to eat. So, even if you stop cooking for a couple of days, don’t stop shopping. Make sure you have some salad and chicken and maybe some smoked salmon and fruit, and plenty of veg you can eat raw. Better to find yourself munching on a carrot in front of the TV than a packet of crisps because you suddenly felt hungry and there was nothing else
